The Paleo Diet Uncovered Wholistic Nutrition

Hi everyone,

today I wanted to explore something that I recently learnt about and wanted to share with you. The Paleo diet.

When I first heard about it, I had no idea what it was, but I really liked the menu items in one of the health-oriented cafes under the “Paleo” heading. They were very simple, but yet really attractive and tasty.

I am a keen believer that there is NO such thing as “The Best Diet for All”. Instead, I believe during different stages of our life we can be drawn to different diets to accomodate the changing needs of our physical body.

It’s extremely Important to always stay present to how various foods make you feel to determine Your Own “Perfect” Diet”, as we are all so different, that “one fits all” principle just doesn’t work here.

Here are some sample questions that you can ask yourself:

Which foods make me feel lethargic, sleepy, and/or bloated?

Which foods give me energy and inspiration?

Which foods make me feel nourished?

Which foods just don’t feel good in my stomach, regardless of how healthy they are considered?

My Golden Rule is:

to NEVER say that one diet is better than other, but instead to

Stay Open-Minded,

Listen to my Body and

Enjoy Experimenting with New Recipes

So, I went on to do my research and found out that Paleo food regime (I don’t like the word “diet”, as it almost automatically gets connected in our mind with limitations) has only recently become “the next best thing”, but the actual concept goes all the way back to prehistoric times, when humans pretty much ate what was growing and running around them.

I really liked the concept of it, as I just recently I learned the importance of having enough proteins in my diet  and was also quite amazed with the difference the food regime, prescribed by my naturopath, with no grains,  sugar, processed foods, alcohol, dairy and starches, made for my digestion. So, I guess I was already eating a Paleo diet at that point without even knowing it.

The biggest problem though with that food regime was coming up with the recipes to fit all of the “no bread, no grains, no sugar” rules, as all of the dishes I was used to cooking on a day-to-day basis did not fit that criteria anymore.

So, it was quite a relief to find out that this ancestral diet is actually considered pretty “hip” t hese days (which I had no idea about-must have been living under a rock) and there are tonnes of resources for anyone looking to transition back to the diet we all presumable were once on anyway.

Not only most of the recipes are quite easy to make, but it provides numerous health benefits and some claim can even help to manage symptoms and prevent auto-immunine disease, diabetes, cardovascular disease, assists with weight loss, normalising blood pressure etc.paleoimage03

I have no right to make any of those claims, but I would highly recommend you to go ahead, do your research, try it and let me know what results you got. I will be more than happy to share those reports with everyone here.

Maybe you have already tried this eating regime and loved it or hated or have some hints to share? Please, let us know in the comments section below.

Ok, speaking of resources there must be thousands of sites offering all sorts of information about it. I wanted to share one I found particularly attractive in terms of investment/value proportion.

It’s a really nice Paleo Recipe Kit the that at the moment can be purchased for only $15, which includes $150 worth of resources:paleoimage04
